Cognia Accreditation
AIS was initially accredited in the spring of 2009 and was reaccredited in the spring of 2015 and…. Accreditation is a tool to ensure the continuous improvement of the school. American Diploma School Leadership applies Cognia’s quality standards to guide the efforts of improving our school. Cognia standards have repeatedly improved the efficiency, awareness, and quality of our collective work (with the leaders of focus groups) and a responsible system of communication with stakeholders to build on ongoing improvement plans.
What is Cognia Accreditation?
Cognia is a non-profit, non-governmental organization that accredits elementary and secondary schools throughout the United States and internationally.
Cognia was established as AdvancED in 2006 through the merging of pre-college divisions of two regional accreditation organizations in the United States: the Accreditation and School Improvement Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, and the Accreditation and School Improvement Council of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. In 2012, the Northwest Accreditation Commission joined AdvancED. AdvancED merged with Measured Progress in 2018 and was renamed Cognia in 2019.
