Accreditation is a tool for ensuring continuous improvement of the school. The American Diploma School Leadership applies Cognia’s quality standards to guide the improvement efforts of our school. Cognia standards have repeatedly enhanced the efficiency, awareness, and quality of our collective work (with group leaders) and an accountable system for communicating with stakeholders to build on continuous improvement plans.
What is Cognia Accreditation?
Cognia is a non-profit, non-governmental organization that accredits primary and secondary schools throughout the United States and internationally.
Cognia was founded as AdvancED in 2006 through the merger of the pre-college divisions of two regional accreditation organizations in the United States: the Accrediting Commission for Schools of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools and the Accreditation Commission for Schools of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. In 2012, the Northwest Accreditation Commission joined AdvancED. AdvancED merged with Measured Progress in 2018 and was renamed Cognia in 2019.
Students who attend a school accredited by NCA CASI or SACS CASI can be assured that the school is committed to improving student performance and supporting their success.
